Obstinance: The Ground-Swell of Hatred October

It is without doubt that the
Cowboys are a well traveled team, having fans throughout the United States that
will pay dearly to take your seat this Sunday however that tells you nothing in
regard to the heartbeat of the NFL.
A few years ago, Minnesotan's were put off by the Eagles fan base in that NFC
Championship game. The City of Brotherly Love was in full blown idiocy on
that day but unless you were an Eagles fan, you couldn't understand all that
anger. Allow me to explain. In any other contest in their venue,
regardless of the colors that you might be presenting on that day, there will be
a substantial contingent of die hard fans, perched high upon the entry gate
fences, uttering the phrase, "Can't we all just agree to hate the
Cowboys?"
Now, how do you think the Steelers fan base might feel about a franchise
referring to themselves as America's team. Well, maybe you either didn't
see or aren't old enough to see those Cowboys face the Steelers in those Super
Bowls but if you did, what do you think that I might tell you about those
contest? Regardless of your opinion on this matter, in Steeler Country
there is no greater hated foe.
How do you think the city of Buffalo feels about America's team after losing two
Super Bowls to the them? Yeah! There's allot of love there. I
hear that Jerry Jones is expecting the key to the city known as Buffalo.
At least Buffalo hasn't been traumatized twice per year like Philadelphia.
Yes, I do know a hard core Cardinals fan & a secondary one too. I say
secondary, as a Viking fan, he roots for his brothers team too. Well you could
ask them about their absolute love of the Cowboys however don't expect either of
them to utter a response. Instead what you could expect is a pair of glaring
laser-like eyes that could melt steel (welding) without having to plug into
anything ... which is good ... as there'd be no actual need for the power
grid.
For me, my hatred began on December 28, 1975, where the omnipotent power of one
man destroyed the 1975's team on two consecutive calls. It didn't get any
better having to digest the Hershel Walker trade that provided the structure of
the Cowboys 90's dynasty. Yes, those ravishing young ladies (cheerleaders)
might be "America's Team" but those Yankee's pin stripes do not extend
to those playing on that grid iron.
Are you starting to get an idea of the actual pulse that is the heartbeat of the
NFL ... in it's entirety.
So as one of this franchise's player you might be thinking that it's your
responsibility to win this upcoming game. Nothing can be further from the
truth. What we are asking is for you to do your job & not to do
anything but your job. Since the spot lights are now on brightly, expect quick hooks &
a varied decision tree to be on full display. There will be no patients
for the obvious.
Now that you have a better understanding of the overall pulse of this NFL
nation, what was once thought to be NFL entertainment (having the Cowboys be in
control toward victory) is actually the very opposite of the Ground-Swell.
Sports books depend upon that hatred however ... you never know what you're
going to get.
Now I ask myself, "Who exactly am I?" From that question, an
even more important one arose. "Would I even recognize myself from an
imagined alternate universe?" To be direct, having to confront
someone that has no idea of my life's struggles versus someone that had no such
issues ...well ... I most certainly wouldn't like that individual.
"Would I be jealous?" No. I just would not be able to relate to
that person in any way. Doesn't this sound allot like any person that
identifies with the Cowboys, Packers, 49ers, Steelers, Patriots, & just
about every other NFL franchise ... with some very limited
exceptions?" These very questions helped to explain
me.
Now we can find ourselves peering into this franchise, seeing a bunch of very
young warriors that have absolutely no idea of this franchises history ... as
after all ... it's just another job. From the rafters, all that they might
know, is the history of some of our recent warriors (like the misused Adrian
Peterson, or what it meant to be "Moss -Uuum!") & today all they
hear are chants that do not tie-in. In other words, there is allot of
pressure being applied with little understanding of its origins. Zulgad
for example offers, "Once (Super Bowl Victory) before I die".
Others offer the word "Skol" (Cheers, Salute, or l'chaim) or to see
the Viking Fans partake in the "Skol Chant (while clapping hands above your
head)" but only the sound of the Gjallarhorn actually ties in ... as it
permeates through the centuries. To be direct, I'm not 100% certain of the
origins of these concepts (except the one that is obvious which is about
winning) but I fear that much of this has by hijacked & have no basis in
actual truth. Compare the former with the fire that once came forth from
the mouth of that dragon which not only was an actual representation of that
iconic Viking ship, it also reflected back to fire deicers that countered the
effect of the north wind within the old " Met". Maybe that's why
I've not actively participated in such as I'm not immersed ... I'm displaced
& therefore detached ... and something just doesn't feel right about
it. Then I ask myself, Is someone having a laugh at our
expense?
If there were something to teach these youngsters that will tie them into the
entire history of this organization, it lies within the word OBSTINANCE as it
doesn't matter who or what you are ... to a man, they all can relate to this
word. If you want to understand the popularity of Harrison Smith all you
need to realize is that he's the poster child of the word OBSTINATE. My
absolute unquestioned respect in our head coach Mike Zimmer can be seen in his
OBSTINATE demeanor combined with his laser like glaring eye. Have you ever
wondered why there are so many Vikings that have been dispersed throughout the
entire league as it might all lie within the word OBSTINATE? If you want
to actually know me you have to appreciate my absolute obstinate nature.
If you want to truly know & relate to any other member of this franchise ...
inside or out ... you must first detect & relate to that Obstinance.
This is the reality.
Here's the rub with OBSTINANCE. From the perspective of the 31 other
franchise, their deal is to turn your focus "INWARD" upon this
franchise & absolutely all that support you. Is this what
Hit-Man-Harry" does? No! His focus upon that field is always in
one direction "OUTWARD". He's like a lion snarling & roaring
at everything, including all those mistakes & personal trip-ups, as this
league is designed to fool the best. You can always tell your direction
based upon peering into his eyes. If they are burning through you like
lasers you're turned into the right direction, if they roll ... well ...
Aren't you glad that I wasn't blessed with even a fraction of your talent, with
my clocks turned back in time because what you would see is "ABSOLUTE
OBSTINANCE" burning with Beserker
Rage. Are you having difficulty imagining what I'm talking
about? Give a person six months to live, then place that person into a
rich environment of omnipotent power hungry assholes ... concerned with only
money & power that are hell bent on "State Servitude" for all ...
all immersed into a no-win system that features wholesale daily begging for
life's minimums.
Blind rage means only that you are blind. You don't have to be a shark ...
you just need to learn how to swim with them. All that hatred is already
out there ... throughout the land. To overcome that it's going to take a
concerted effort by directing zebra's. If you just do your job & let
it all come to you, again, keeping all those searing eyes upon the unfaithful
despots, the ground swell will build upon its own. In the NFL, generally
speaking things are too close to overcome external forces but your Obstinance
will always be apparent.
