Zimmer Legend
I just heard a (so called) 10 year Viking fan call into the Sirius NFL talk show
complaining about our head coach Mike Zimmer in regard to his play calling &
very conservative defensive approach to the game. Well, I'm here to
dispute that claim stating once again ... "This man is a
legend". Also, Mike Zimmer is not our play caller. And you sir
... know nothing of this franchises history.
Let's keep in mind that last Sunday, from his 2019 defense, he had Harrison
Smith, Holton Hill (a back-up corner), Anthony Harris & Eric
Kendricks. Gone are Linval Joseph, Anthony Barr, Daniel Hunter, Trae
Waynes, Xavier Rhodes, & MacKensie Alexander (in the slot), as well as his
hybrid Jayron Kearse. Oh, and let's not forget that Everson Griffen is now
in exile in Dallas, TX. In other words, when defending passing sets, Coach
Zimmer has lost 8 of 11 major role players in his attempt to win a
contest. Yesterday, when we saw someone's number on that defense, we'd ask
... who was that? Then, to add insult to injury, they disqualified
Harrison Smith too, making our victory more that just great coaching but nothing
less than a miracle. If you see Mike Zimmer's team anywhere near the NFC
championship this 2020 season, he should be hands down the NFL's best coach of
the year.
Instead of that retarded statement, what Coach Zimmer requires is my applause.
Unless your on planet Mars, Coach Zimmer's clear statement is, "If you
won't play for me ... then you'll be playing somewhere else". For
Trae Waynes, as it turns out, for a considerably different paycheck however
Waynes approach to the game never wavered whereas Xavier Rhodes gave up huge,
turning both his eyes & his back to a Kansas City receiver as just one
example. Yes, we all have eyes out there.
If you know anything about statistics, based upon this franchises records,
combined with all of it's earned opportunities, this franchise should have won
an NFL championship several times over but instead what we have ended up with is
a Blair Walsh missed chip shot or Gary Anderson miss in 1998 from the exact spot
that Gary Andersen made his field goal to destroy our magical season.
Since 1961, there is much much more upon that ledger. What I'm saying is that
there is "goings-on" behind the scenes that have prevented this
franchise from Piercing the Veil. To
be direct, this Viking Nation cannot afford to wait another 12 years to get our
shot. "One Time before I die" is now the mantra.
Both Gladney & Dantzler in my eyes have been nothing less than spectacular,
in that they are both making mistakes but they are clearly defying that learning
curve. They are not complacent & they are now immersed into a new era
... a new foundation. Their play has been nothing short of infectious ...
more than just entertainment.
My message to Gary Kubiak is to immediately curtail his actions. For
Dalvin Cook ... less is more. Your mechanical-ego, combined with Dalvin's
gentle need "to serve it up" are counter productive to the overall
longevity of the season. In the last two contest, you were clearly
overusing Dalvin where you'd be better suited to holding him back to allow him
to exploit a softened up defense. Spelling Dalvin with Alexander Mattison
for only one play on a drive is absolute overuse whereas Alexander spelling 3
separate times in that drive would be better suited toward distributing Dalvin's
reserves, especially on those 1st down runs. Let's not forget that
Alexander is very eager to help this franchise toward its goals. This is
not about records, or yards, etc. ... its about attrition. These backs
(all four) have the utmost respect for each other & each would crawl through
broken glass to get a command. It's time to consider that focusing only upon
what Dalvin Cook can do, versus any other player, doesn't mean that you can
drive him into the gravel. It is beyond time that we begin to use him
wisely ... for the duration. Screw fantasy points ... as it has
nothing to do with this game that we love.
In regard to this offensive line, as pass blockers go ... you'd better just run
the ball. In "Running Mode" Kirk Cousins is unstoppable.
Did you notice that no one can stop this teams running attack? I know that
it is not fair, as Biscuit is actually progressing nicely, especially in his
dominant run blocking, but Biscuit is still on a steep learning curve in the
cohesiveness of his pass protection. Biscuit actually has a shot to become
something one day, if he can one day master both his footwork & leverage,
& then walk away from carbs. Count your blessings Biscuit as you find
yourself ahead of Udoh, who should be out there instead. Don't lament as
this is happening this way for a very specific reason. It is tearing me up
that Udoh is still inactive where at some point he's going to "Chief
Bromden" something in that practice facility ... just to let you know that
what you are doing is very wrong. He can't demonstrate ... that you were
correct after all ... until he gets the ability to rip someone's head off.
His impatient & never ending anger will be his switch. You might be
wondering, what was so obvious about Udoh, based upon him having only 1 NFL
start & I'd tell you it could clearly be seen from my very first
introduction to this specimen. As immature & raw as he is ... he lacks
only 1 thing ... his chance at logging experience. You have a choice, to
act upon these words, or your actions will be thrust upon you. Allow me to
state this clearly one more time, "It is always better to Act that
React! Doesn't anyone remember that missing member of that Cris Dolman,
Keith Millard, Henry Thomas defensive front four ... as he was just some
under weight Hall of Fame rookie known as "MUSCLE".
Did Chisena have a big day or what? Man that cat can fly. He's no
Joey Browner but he's clearly got skills baby. Also, did you notice that
when Beebe dresses it is soon followed with a 100 yard performance by Justin
Jefferson & a W. Coincidence ... I think not. Maybe Jefferson is
a Vampire feeding off the Beebe-Bond. Some ties go beyond explanation.
JJ's play is infectious & Thielen had me on the ground LMAO on his sideline
celebration guffaw.
Everything happens for a reason, where the ejection of
Harrison Smith just might have been a significant Zimmer-Wake-Up-Call.
Before the season started, you could say that Eric Wilson was to be Zimmer's key
hybrid player as Eric has outstanding coverage skills however that all changed
with the loss of Anthony Barr. Dan Chisena is listed as a WR on our
official roster, being more of a special teams ace at seasons start however we
all now understand Zimmer's Hall of Horrors in having Chisena practicing at
corner during training camp. Now we all understand why, as Coach Mike
probably has his teeth sunk deeply into Dan, grooming him for that
quasi-hybrid-safety role. If Zimmer isn't all over that notion by now,
then he needs someone to get out the VuDo doll out and haunt his dreams.
Players with wide receiver skills don't have hands of stone which can do nothing
but help in our overall turnover differential playing defense in Zimmer's
scheme. Sure Dan is just one more raw talent out there but it is clear
that he's got something very special making Zimmer's initial 53 man
roster. It's hard not to gush buckets over this Chisena guy where I'm very
much looking forward to his enhanced playing time ... hopefully in the near
future. Zimmer clearly has issues fielding corners & safeties where I
wouldn't put anything past his brilliance in converting Chisena to the dark side
(defense). His tutelage under Harrison Smith & Anthony Harris, two of
the best safeties in the league, will be an inspiration. Chisena may never
have understood why he's been in limbo ... of sorts. It was because he was
cast in the wrong type of mold only to be found as a diamond in the ruff at this
elite level. My only hope is that he deeply embraces what he was meant to
do. Maybe Dan just doesn't yet know what he's actually about
yet.
Do you recycle from the heap ... or do you have Chisena
man cover #14 with the explicit instruction to destroy any & all 50/50
balls?
There is no 12th man this year in Sea-Cock-Town. So, do you think its
impossible to beat Russell Wilson? Maybe you shouldn't even show up for
that contest? Do you think it is just a passing desire for Head Coach Mike
Zimmer to finally beat the Sea-holes or could this be on another level ... like
some sort of an ambush? Is it just me or has Wilson just thrown the ball
over everyone's head ... over the top ... to get all those victories. Like
Moss to Culpepper. Nobody ever stopped that ... or did they? Do you
think Coach Mike Zimmer is going to allow that
"Over-The-Top-Stuff" to happen on his watch? With Gladney
& Danztler, it might happen once, but it will end there. I absolutely
love the vicious fight in those knuckleheads. Can you imagine the day when
these two sport "Ronnie-Lott-Like" snarls upon their faces ...
keeping in mind that today they are still just babes in the woods.
Neither Hill or Hughes can be trusted to keep the play in front of them as their
coverage skills have been beyond unacceptable. Is it impossible to envision
the Sea-Doggies getting smacked down ... on their own turf ... on
national TV ... and at night no less? Has that ever been done
before?
No one knows if Danielle Hunter will ever play another down in the NFL, facing
what could be a career ending neck, but if he ever does return to this defensive
squad, the balance of power in the NFL will shift overnight. Can just one
man influence the game to that extent? No! ... but bookend the
"disciplined-play" of Ngakoue with a healthy Hunter & its becomes
an entirely different story. Again, it is not how you start the season
that matters ... it's in how it ends. It's time to start praying for
Danielle's miracle.
Has anyone noticed what has been spiraling around D.J. Wonnun? What is
that all about? Is he some sort of Bermuda Triangle-like vortex out there
or what?
As for the ownership of this franchise, they've finally taken that step in the
correct direction, although Coach Mike Zimmer will be under enormous pressure
applied by the elites. For other franchises, including in our own past,
coaches were considered disposable as it was too costly by comparison to
confront players, especially with long term deals. What that meant to the
players, as well as other nefarious characters was that players had autonomy to
act & do as they wish, which is no longer the case. In addition, for
the players clawing their way up to starting roles & toward elite money, all
their hard work becomes both stable & linear. Now for one moment,
consider that year long struggle of the 52 other players, as well as their life
long sacrifices made, when Blair Walsh missed that chip shot field goal.
At that very moment what I saw was a collective bunch of blood soaked &
battered bodies combining with a Hindenburg-like explosion. There is no
feeling like that when your feet are ripped from beneath you ... sourced from an
out-of-tune-fork. The tally books reflect John F. Kennedy (The Team)
versus Oswald which has never balanced on paper. In other words, when it comes
to leadership, the only thing that really matters is that he's done everything
in his power to ensure a contest that I can be proud of ... win or in a battered
loss. That can only come with a message that I'll sacrifice just about
everything (my defense) to get the team character deserved. That can only
happen with the absolute support & discipline of our ownership. Way to
go Mark!
You've selected your man to lead your men. Now to see the dividend you
must respect his desire to bring this franchise its first Super Bowl title by
adhering to the respect "equal to" that extended toward coach
Belichick.
