Additional Minnesota Viking Commentary

Wisdom Drawback  November 21, 2021  12:00 pm
In watching the "Bolt-ed" 1st half unfold, does a retarded learning curve become apparent ... offering to us ... stubborn omnipotence from this franchises coaching staff.  It is obvious, with all those opportunities to run those 4th down plays ... knowing that Head Coach Mike Zimmer now has his back ... up against the wall ... that he's now going to allow his players the opportunity to prove their salt.  However, Coach Zimmer is still holding onto one of those bullets leaving us all in peril.  It's hard not to note the super human effort required to overcome both the Penalty_Severity_Index combined with what is clearly retarded behavior.

In watching the replays, you could see Christian Darrisaw push a defensive players into another defensive player ... knocking both of them down like bowling pins ... which is a testament to an overwhelming running game concept combined with the potential of imparting Wyatt Davis into our running scheme.  When the Raven's fielded defensive lineman #42 Patrick Ricard ... making him and eligible tight end ... what we saw was a "Tool-Shed-Come-To-Jesus-Moment" ... that collapsed our "Defensive Flank" where our defense looked like broken matchsticks.  Again, just like in that Raven's game, we undervalued this Raven's concept ... for "Tight-End-Rehabilitation" ... valuing tight end experience over everything else, inserting Luke Stocker (#35) into our power running mode instead.  What followed was a ... non-continuity ... Stocker Ticky-Tacky 15 yard face mask penalty which could have destroyed yet another critical franchise drive placing this offense into a to 1st & 25.  For a moment, instead imagine the mauler #51 Wyatt Davis inserted onto that wing, as that eligible tight end, ready to manipulate that defensive flank ... also picking up valuable NFL lineman experience in the process.

Is the immature #51 Wyatt Davis in Mike Zimmer's dog house ... somewhat like so many other players throughout his tenure in Minnesota ... or might coach now be considering the biometrics of ... THE THING? Too often this team has considered trying to resurrect some particular player rather than realizing a concept combined with absolute potential ... to get THE THING.  In this case, the thought is that we need a power blocking tight end ... like the reliable Kyle Rudolph ... on our flank, were now we can only consider prior experience as the measuring stick rather than an outcome based approach.  Each time Stocker is on that field instead of Davis, this franchise is losing valuable reps in his development.  Also, line back-up status or reserve is irrelevant ... if he's dressed ... he should be getting dirt on his uniform in the pits ... more than just special teams.  The key indicator is that we are taking way too many running plays for a loss ... which indicates high risk behavior by those defenders ... which will not happen once their flank is exposed to obliteration.  Said another way, too often we focus on the home run ball, rather than to instead focus on a gain of 2 to 4 yards, especially knowing the new found importance of 4th down plays ... something that was overlooked until recently.
