As of last evening, the
forecast was 2/100th of an inch or rain/snow in Buffalo, NY on Sunday November
13th. Do you believe it? Personally I'm packing for heavy cold
accumulation as there are only two seasons in Buffalo. Winter & July
17th.
In years past, we'd look over that schedule, having had established early
success, having hopes of greatness year after year. Which would quickly
follow with that pending statement, "Yeah, but we haven't hit the TEETH (of
that schedule) yet!" What that was in reference was in facing the
heart of our NFC Central Foes. Regardless of the year it was never any picnic
facing the "Fudge-Packers", "Da Bears", "The Bucs"
or even the "Lions". Year after year we'd split our games with
the Fudgies & the A.E. Staley's, with some grace facing the Lions but
even then we were made to pay a heavy price. This as it was would be the
TEETH ... The sausage grinder ... of the Black & Blue Division ... The
greatest Division of all. Today, none of these foes is in our rear view
mirror however this year may be different.
On the other hand, as of today, the Eagles are the #1 seed being both
undefeated, as well as holding onto the head to head record tie-breaker from our
crew, having secured their home opener over my Belove-ED Vikings. Of
course, what that means is having to face Philadelphia once again in the
championship game, in that hell hole of brotherly love, tossing them a first
round bye to heal up to boot. Not so fast.
You see the Eagles haven't yet faced the TEETH of their division. As we
are all very aware, the Commanders and that very capable defense are no
pushovers & for all the crap tossed out there at Heinicke, he can change the
outcome of any game. The team is rallying behind him. As it stands
today, both the Giants & Cowboys are pushing for playoff seeds too.
How does that Jive with an undefeated team & what might that mean for the
purple gang from the North??? Let's not forget that high risk of Jalen Hurts
& that Philly offensive that has developed it's moniker ground TD's.
This is somewhat similar to the ever mobile Josh Allen begging the question ...
can it be sustained for 17 games? .
According to the masters of the universe ... you know, the power ranking guys
... we stand little chance of running the upcoming gambit expecting these
Vikings to crash & burn. On the other hand ... would you rather face
the TEETH of the NFC's Black & Blue Division!!!???
Remembering the Mile High Salute & the Lambaeu Leap or Philadelphia's rubber
dog face ... there's something within all that Captain Kirk's bling combined
with that comforting confident smile. Someone opened a can ... and there's
a bit of swag on it. The media's picked up on it. It's new.
It's different. Best of all it is completely unexplained. Was there
wisdom in Cousins, "Why not ...???"
