Small Ball Retard December 17, 2023
Either Kevin O'Connell is playing his team to a script or he's a Small Ball Retard.  He's got one of the most prolific offensives in the league at his fingertips where instead he reaches into his bag small ball losers.  Are you kidding me???

Look around gentlemen ... you are not the Philadelphia Eagles.  We realize that this is a copy cat league.  Jalen Hurts is a very athletic 6'-1" at 223# whereas Nick Mullens is a 6'-0" 210# blob of shit by comparison  ... no offense ... but you're no Robert Griffin III or Michael Vick.  Two (2) times consecutively we ran 5'-8" at 181# (generously) Brandon Powel behind this blob for no gain.  Are you kidding me???  No offense to Brandon Powel but does someone need to have his head examined.  By comparison, Joshua Dobbs is again a very athletic 6'-3" at 220# however, he was buried as "NON-USABLE" on your emergency quarterback depth chart.  Take one of this franchises most dynamic players that shocked the world & bury him into obscurity.  Once again, Kevin O'Connell's decision in regard to our back up quarterback bit us squarely in the ass.

Let me state this so that you can understand this clearly.  Maybe this years #1 NFC team in 2023 isn't the Philadelphia Eagles, nor is it the 49ers, which we beat outright.  It is arguably the Dallas Cowboys and there is only 1 person on this Vikings squad that destroyed the Cowboys.  Of course that was Joshua Dobbs where this one fact alone might help to explain why he's roster-ed on this Vikings squad today.  To be direct, we've made a horrible mistake in benching Dobbs.

We've seen Nick Mullens lose twice.  In his first start he was ineffective versus the Packers & in yesterdays outing he was a very poor mans version of Kirk Cousins.  Sure he knows the playbook & sure he can find the open man but that's combined with a substandard set of athletic NFL skills.  You could say that the defense lost yesterdays game being up by 14 points but you'd be wrong. Sure they had their role in the loss but early on that defense shown out Bristol.

We're up 7-3 at the 4:06 mark in the 2nd quarter with the ball on the Bengal's 15 yard line.  Mullens throws an interception at the goal line.  Coach O'Connell this is less than stellar & should stacked up with your evaluation of Dobbs.  That wasn't a stellar play made by a DB nor was it one of those tipped balls.  It was a mangled mess.  Then at the 33 second mark, from the red zone, old boulders for shoes takes a sack because he's not athletically mobile.  We're still OK.  We're still well within field goal range, you know the margin of yesterdays victory in regulation, where old granite feet takes another sack & tosses the ball right into the hands of that same defensive lineman.  Mullens is not better than Dobbs ... he's a nightmare by comparison ... and there is now no substantiation for his play.

Now it wasn't all bad yesterday, as both Addison & Ty Chandler had outstanding outings.  I'd like to acknowledge Coach O'Connell's decision to both play & incorporate Ty however it was attrition that made that call ... not his brilliance.  Chandler succeeded because he not only has speed ... he also has a rare combination of balance combined with his ability to slash that makes defenders miss.  The result was a shredding that hasn't occurred all season long.

Now we find ourselves at Coach Kevin O'Connell's pivot point.  Never in his tenor with this Vikings franchise will he have ever amassed the coaching, the players & the where with all to be able to CHANGE THE GAME in a historic fashion.  May I remind you of all those free agents that are about to get serious paydays where there is no way that this franchise can pay all of them.  That's a good thing, as all that hard work & determination will result in enumeration for all those individuals but this will change our roster irrevocably & not in a good way ... especially if this hand is played out without a clear & concise effort to CHANGING THE GAME.  Sure, you can look at the upcoming playoffs & think to yourself that there is no way that we can compete for this leagues biggest prize without Kirk Cousins ... thinking "WOE IS ME" but considered this leagues history of NFL champions being led by back up quarterbacks ... not those highly paid starters. In other words, what it comes down to ... really ... is a choice.

Jaren Hall, no matter what he might actually be capable of, doesn't have the NFL experience to lead anybody or anything into the playoffs.  Which leaves you with two (2) options.  It doesn't matter how well Nick Mullens played or what he did last Sunday, he doesn't not posses the spark or the athletic skill to lead this team deep into the playoffs.  In other words, you have to face the fact that Nick Mullens was brought here to back up our starter ... whomever that might be.  Starting Mullens is akin to giving up on this team ... and that my friends ... expresses the turning point for our head coach Kevin O'Connell & his tenor within this franchise.  Go forward with Mullens as your starter & your primary resource for getting this thing done ... and for this franchise it is over.  Does this mean that Mullens isn't still a big part of this thing.  No, however his role has been well designed in a supporting role ... which fit his mindset, his attitude & how he carries himself ... to a tee.  In this regard, Kevin O'Connell was brilliant.  Can Mullens help us bail out this franchise when Dobbs becomes overwhelmed ... well the answer is that he did it once ... he'll do it again & again.  In other words coach, you have already lost & until you make the decision to CHANGE THE GAME ... everything will be sealed for eternity.

So, you might be asking why might this be true?  It is because Nick Mullens doesn't scare anyone.  He doesn't scare the Lions.  He doesn't scare the Packers.  He doesn't scare anyone that is invested in the NFL.  So who might it be that has the entire Detroit Lion fan base ... shitting their pants?  What might it be that has every playoff bound team shitting their pants?

Well, I'm glad that you asked.  It's the BOSS WILDCARD.  That card isn't Hall & it is certainly not Mullens.

Could it be that Dobbs hates your guts?  Well, if you were in his position, over & over again, how would you feel about it.  The question here is are you or are you not the most brilliant offensive mind in football ... and what will you do to CHANGE THE GAME.  When Tony Dungy spoke on Randy Moss's dropping his pants in Green Bays end zone, before he made that infamous statement, everyone & I mean everyone was in disgust & in agreement with Joe Buck's assessment.  When Tony Dungy explained how he thought it was comical, spitting back at the chance of all those Packers families doing it to our team bus ... people got the message.  Now it is the Hall of Famer Kurt Warner voicing outward that Kevin O'Connell was just wrong in his assessment of Dobbs. As it turns out, Warner was right.

So how does it begin?  It begins by O'Connell speaking directly with Dobbs.  It starts with the words that I was completely wrong in his assessment of Dobbs.   It begins with switching the focus from Mullens & Dobbs directly onto himself ... like what would Buddy Ryan do.  It is to change the focus upon himself where the press immediately calls for his resignation with the head lines that this team is in complete disarray & that the head coach is absolutely nuts.  That's right BULL GOOSE LOONEY NUTS!

At the very least, maybe they'll stop calling Joshua Dobbs the PASSTRONAUT!  He's just a freakishly gifted athlete that on an incredibly steep learning curve.,

Which brings us to Justin Jefferson, who like Addison, is not happy that the ball is being thrown down the field to pad their stats.  Well, that shit is over now.  Firstly, do you think that Dobbs is not capable of making that down the field throw ... well maybe not as accurately as Kirk Cousins ... but he's proven that he's certainly not very far from that ability registering a quarterback rating above 100 in two games.  What I can tell you is that Dobbs has learned a very hard lesson ... for his benefit ... and he's not going to make that same mistake again ... if given the chance.

Our players ... all players ... are afraid.  They know the politically correct statements to make so there not going to give you the answer that you are looking to get.  The primary question being, "If we go ahead with Mullens ... is our season over?"  The fan base knows, as there hasn't been that spark ... Mullens is not nor will he ever be JOE-KAPP-LIKE ... He's was just a winner.

What is required, and what is required to change the destiny of Kevin O'Connell & the destiny of this franchise is leadership.  Nothing fancy.

Gentlemen, there is no ill feelings toward the accomplishments of this franchise ... as I'm just a simple man.  I need to drastically CHANGE THE GAME ... to change the outcome of this season.  You all might disagree with my assessments but I've not here to play it safe, nor am I here to play it like everyone else.  I'm here to win an NFL championship.  To do so, I've got to find a way to make that happen.  Josh Dobbs will be are starter for the remainder of the season & Nick Mullens will be in support of everything that we do.  We are going to use both of them in any way that will secure victory on that field.  Now, what I expect from you ... is nothing less than everything that you got.  And one more thing ... Ty Chandler has earned his opportunity to spark this team.  Gentlemen ... let's get this thing done.

Gentlemen, we are going to revive this Phoenix ... Allow it to once again rise from the ashes and we are going to CHANGE THE GAME.  God ... somehow made this thing happen ... and we are going to not only recognize it for what it really is ... we are going to see it through.
