Additional Minnesota Viking Commentary

Sexy as Shit! September 24, 2023
I absolutely love it.  The Vikings are sitting at 3 loses with no wins and here we pout.  Did we forget that we were 40:1 underdogs to win this seasons Super Bowl?  Are we simply to ignore that there are 17 games in this season.  Let me be the first to say that I'd rather lose the 1st game of the season than to lose the last.  This is much more than telling ourselves something nice ... this is a reflection of our history.  In case you haven't noticed, this evolving team under Kirk Cousins has been in a perpetual state of change.

In that 2021 season, we lost just about every close game that we played in.  In that 2022 season, we won just about every close game.  In the process, in 2022 we not only set records, we reached out for the impossible and somehow we found ourselves grasping onto that brass ring.  So what does it all mean?  Why is it all happening?  The answer is not for the faint of heart but it is there to expose the hypocrites & the narcissist.  They'll all be in your face tomorrow.  From here you'll hear the volume increase as to why Kirk Cousins should be traded to the Jets or in how Justin Jefferson's talents are being wasted where he would be better off playing for the cowboys, for example.  Are you kidding me you narcissistic bunch of pig!

If you were to peer back at the Detroit Lions 2022 season, you would note that they recorded one (1) win & six (6) losses starting that season where they just missed out on securing the 7th seed in the playoffs.  They lost in a tie with the Sea-Cocks.  You don't have to be the number 1 seed to punch your ticket to the Super Bowl.  You just need to qualify for the tournament.  In case you can't add our combined 3 losses doesn't mean squat ... it only matters if we chose to believe that it matters.  To be direct, it doesn't.  Sure it's painful to watch and sure it's new territory for the faithful but are we missing something?

We are playing with a bunch of inexperienced kids. Very few of them are salty veterans but there is something very unique about them.  Just for a moment consider today's 4th down stop on San Diego's 24 yard line.  4th & 1 with no time outs left.  Are backs are against the wall where it's do or die.  For all purposes, the game is over, but not so fast.  If that happened for Kansas City or the Baltimore Raven's they would methodically have matriculated the ball into the end zone with virtually no time left securing the victory.  Sure, when it comes to time management running the 2 minute offense, we've scored a retard ... time and again, but we had the chance.

So what's the problem?  Take a look at that film.  Cousins throws the ball down the field where Jefferson catches it but he's having to perform miraculous forms of gyrations just to catch it, almost always falling hard down to the ground.  Other throws are close, sometimes catch-able, but off the mark nonetheless.  In the end, one of those off the marks throws ends up in a tip ball drill that sank our ship.  Now compare all those throws with Justin Herbert and what you'll notice immediately is almost flawless throws where the ball placement was so accurate that RAC would decimate our defense.

From this observation, two things come to mind.  Kirk Cousins is so frustrated that he's overcompensating ... likely but not true.  Maybe he's pissed off about his contract situation and wants to play it this way because he's mentally tormented by not having that security.  Stop pouting bitch because you know what's about to come.  We'd all like to believe that he wouldn't act in this manner, to play just bad enough, because he's a professional, but he's also human ... a pissed off one.  However, there is a switch within Kirk Cousins, that once it is turned on, he's proven that there is no way to stop him.  Of course I'm referring to the Herb Brooks Jim Craig dynamic.  You could call it a Minnesota Dynamic.  Maybe Kevin O'Connell doesn't have the balls to call him out ... to draw Kirk Cousins to that place ... that hard place.  Does Kirk Cousins have the tools to etch it all in stone?  I believe he does.  Does he see himself etched as Kurtis Eugene Warner or is he going to let is all just flash before his eyes.  Guess who I'm eagerly awaiting?

Of course this is all conjecture, but it's probably a very good guess ... or better said ... an approximation.  But it doesn't matter because Kirk Cousins is my quarterback and he longs to wear those chains ... metaphorically!   His lovely wife gets to dress him where maybe the actual chains clash with that motif.  Regardless, his wife should come first but hanging that metaphor is sexy as shit.

I'm sick up & fed with the numb-nuts that say (we have little chance) because we are losing the games that we are supposed to win (with the notable exception of The Philadelphia Eagles).  Remember your history people, when Joe Montana would decimate great team after great team only to lose to the lowly.  It never made sense but it does today.  In our 2022 season, we won all the games that we were supposed to win and got destroyed by the best teams in the NFC.  Maybe 2023 is a reverse of that script.  Some call that an enigma.  As for the Eagles, I personally did the unthinkable to sink that Viking Ship.  Why?  Because we might see that Eagles team again.  Tell me, who says that it's impossible for the Minnesota Vikings to earn the #1 Seed after starting 0-3.  Maybe, it's not probable ... but it is possible.

Where is our patience?  After losing Oli to injured reserve, the effects of Dalton Risner haven't even begun to be felt on this team.  Bradbury hasn't returned yet and Quessenberry's impact has yet to be realized.  People, the season is young ... but it's almost over too ... so don't miss a minute.  Kirk Cousins is my quarterback.  I believe in what is inside that man.  What I'm saying is the errant throws today will in time become crisp bullets once the offensive line woes settle in.  Be patient people.

Are we watching the same games?  In Philadelphia the point spread is six.  We lose by six.  The bookies are very happy as everyone loses on either side of that bet.  The reality is that if Justin Jefferson doesn't have that mishap ... the script is flipped ... resulting in a different outcome.  In Game 1, is there anyone on the planet think that in 10 games played, the Bucs would win at least once.  Then again today, we obtain a miracle stop of 4th down, that ultimately ended the game in a tip ball drill.  Read between the lines as there is a deeper meaning.

What confounds this entire mess is our young defensive skill sets.  I've never seen anything like it.  It (the defense) is a true dynamic free spirit that's evolving ... taking on a mask of proportions.  At times they look like sharks out of water ... flailing and whopping about ... however, they still are a bunch of ravenous sharks out there.  That tip ball touchdown was a heartbreaker but it indicates being on the cusp of transition.  Leadership is definitely apparent ... with decentralized decision making ... where only the decisions made lack that veteran savvy.  We should all expect that to evolve too ... into something really nasty.  We've played a 3-4 before but we've never had a master at the controls before.  Waiting back is for fools ... we are head on full tilt into the abyss.  I love it.

Let the narcissistic bull crap begin.  I've done everything that I've been asked to do.  On the slate, is the appearance of a blow-over opponent.  We've been here before.  We've been overlooked before.  Watch out!  I believe.  If the collective takes it on too.  Watch out!  Would you rather be putting up gaudy Dolphin numbers today, or be a Viking tomorrow?  It's a process ... It's a choice!
