Retard Standard November 29, 2021
We have to outright reject
any statement or comment that states in any way that Kirk Cousins is having a
great year ... that is ... unless you relish seeing the Minnesota Vikings
franchise lose. Why? Because Kirk Cousins already has 1 foot out the
door in a sub-standard block buster trade ... where someone is going to have to
accept his statistics once again ... for his well substandard outcome highest
priced contract. People ... only in Naiveté'
Minnesota.
People, just for a moment consider the future. Would it be worth having
our first Super Bowl Championship ... to endure another 6 years (long term
contract) of Kirk Cousins well-over-priced WHAT? Did we forget how close
the back-up-paid Case Keenum was after the Minneapolis Miracle to be able to
accept more Kirk Cousins WHAT? After yesterdays performance, where Kirk
Cousins threw the ball into the dirt, having JJ wide open in the end zone for
two ... your eyes begin to open. Is Stephen Diggs now having a laugh at
our expense, thinking to himself how right he was, followed by a bolt of dread
having to see his past "compatriots of excellence" trapped into this
Kirk Cousins web of deceit?
Wins & losses are hung on only two ... quarterbacks & head
coaches. At 5 & 6, can we accept this from such a talented
group? Can we accept Kubiak's/Cousins illicit & untimely 3 & outs
or will we demand immediate change? Against what was yet again clearly, a
run first offense ... why didn't we use five defensive linemen to stop the run
& force Garopalo to beat us with his arm?
On the other hand, after three successive touchdowns ... was the die cast in
regard to the points allowed at 49.5. With a final score of 34/26 or 50
points it went over however was that influence heavily by Kene's return for a
TD. Since there were no points scored in the 4th quarter, this appears to
be quite odd. In other words, was Kirk Cousins one & only
interception, followed by the shortest field possible for that punch in ... did
it seal our over/under fate. Said another way, were the hands of our
offense tied by some sort of arbitrary number that sacrifices all that 4th
quarter worldly entertainment so that LGBQTRGMZLKV's can watch us suffer once
again.
Knowing what head coach Mike Zimmer faced yesterday, with the loss of his entire
defensive line (Pierce, Griffen, Tomlinson, Hunter), did he realistically have a
shot at any sort of control in the outcome. To be direct, with these four,
it is clear that the outcome would have been entirely different but that's
irrelevant. You'd be hard pressed to lay the blame at the feet of Kirk
Cousins as the book-ended drives of the first half ... in a
point-hard-ceiling-game ... told the tale of this game. Once again, we
could not stop the run ... & when we did ... the Penalty
Severity Index arrived in full regalia to appoint a needed 1st down
(defensive holding) to keep that inept drive going. This makes no mention
of losing a critical time out on Thielen's challenge ... which was clearly a
catch.
Understanding the need for Zimmer's patchwork, I was very impressed with the
output of Richardson, Tashawn Bower, & Wonnum ... so there are positives
however it was difficult to breakdown how they withstood SF run game.
Maybe there is still hope in getting this thing to gel.
However, I still wonder about how Wyatt Davis (still inactive) might have helped
in securing that critical first 1st down on those Cousins patented 3 &
outs??? If you think Davis should be behind that last dressed player you'd
be missing that key element to victory. We've faced too many running teams
this year to overlook his impact on the end destroying that defensive
flank.
