So ... you're
a long time fan of the Minnesota Vikings ... and your in search of answers. Me
... personally ... date way back to 1966 where there are still some survivors
that go way back to the beginning You're wondering why. Why haven't the
Vikings won a Super Bowl Championship? Why hasn't Kirk Cousins secured a
new contract? Why are we jettisoning high profile & therefore overpaid
veterans? Well the answer might lie with the 1998 season where before it
ended Randal Cunningham ... that seasons league MVP ... secured a 5 year 25
million dollar contract. By the way ... Randy Moss was the actual league
MVP ... twice! Well the answer lies within the word RESPECT ... and if
you're a Cowboys fan ... there is anything but respect for Minnie HA HA!
It was truly an EPIC DAY. To put it into perspective, for the following
two weeks this team would have to play in Detroit due to 80" of snow
falling in their stadium, where the 2nd week was regularly scheduled for a
Thanksgiving contest versus the Lions. There was a screaming in my ears so
loud to take action that it was impossible to ignore the din. The words
... It will be EPIC ... rang over and over again. To be on the 50 yard
line, I had to secure a season ticket in the heart of The MAFIA held by a family
since 1960 ... their inaugural year. It was November 13, 2022 ... and Josh
Allen was more than a major question mark ... but he would start on that day ...
as folks ... he's the real deal. These 2022 Minnesota Vikings on this day
would have to overcome a 17 point deficit & a late Bills field goal & a
missed extra point by our kicker to walk out of that out door stadium with a
victory. As the Bills Mafia hammered away at me ... literally ...
threatening to roll me in the aisles ... I just stated opening ... over and over
again ... (I'm here because) this is going to be epic. On this day ... no
one would be disappointed in that fact as there has never been anything like
it.
Now before I go any further, there is one thing that needs to be cleared up and
it has to do with winning close games. Before the 2022 season, I firmly
believed that it wasn't in Kirk Cousins nature to win close games & a
testament to this fact was in losing to Baltimore the year prior. For
whatever reason Kirk Cousins offense would always find a way to choke. In
Baltimore, a protection breakdown thwarted Kirk's overtime drive however the
offense could have gone for 2 points in regulation to win that game rather than
put the game into the hands of maybe the greatest kicker of this era.
Commentators will point to the point differential & they'll make all sort of
speeches about it ... but after that 2022 season ... why hasn't Kirk Cousins acquired
the name ... Captain Comeback ... or something of the sort ... as Rodger Staubach's
never came close to what Kirk Cousins did in 2022. So why no contract for
Kirk Cousins? Well the answer is simple ... really!
Before we answer that question knowing a few of these little tidbits we must
consider the upcoming brutal 2023 season, as well as future contracts, as all
monies are projected out into the future where anything & everything
has to be considered into the equation. If history tells us anything ...
especially after two franchise tags ... it that Kirk Cousins knows that there is
no doubt that the money will come as you cannot foil destiny. Well, let's
begin by considering where I firmly believe that Kirk Cousins will play the 2024
season. If you were to guessed in San Francisco, you'd be correct, where
Kirk Cousins will become the highest paid NFL player on the planet & be one
of the most respected athletes of his profession/generation. Why?
Because RESPECT will do just that where every commentator that has found their
way to soil him ... in one way or another ... will be forced into supplication
... crawling like little pigs through that floor level doggie door. How
can this possibly happen well it involves facing that HELLatious 49ers defense
& destroying it twice. There will be no sensible way for this Vikings
franchise to protect or shield this from happening as Kirk Cousins no trade
clause will not apply & the 49ers will pay the freight ... even trumping any
franchise tag.
The key for Kwesi ... is to maintain his bull goose ... as seen to be mentally
challenged outlook ... no matter what ... and in the face of incredible pressure
... not to sign any future deal with Kirk Cousins ... until after Sunday,
February 11, 2024. After that date, if Kirk Cousins wants his family to
stay & play in Minnesota, it will be his choice to do so as no team ... no
agent ... no one ... can tamper with Kirk Cousins. It is very important
that Mark Wilf follows though with his vision in regard to Kwesi by standing
beside him with what would appear to be reckless abandon. So does Zygi
love his brother? We will soon find out the answer to that
question.
So ... you still want answers ... you're demanding the answer. Well, not
so fast.
So, you saw Kirk Cousins wearing those chains. Sometimes the things that
you see are nothing more than propaganda. Things that are presented to you
to distract you from the truth. How do you know? Well, its because
it was copied and in time it faded all away. It was a poor attempt to
prescribe a formula for a Super Bowl championship but I never seen other
champions wearing those chains. What didn't fade away was the HELLatious
pounding that Kirk Cousins would endure throughout the season to hold that ball
until the last possible second to achieve all those come from behind slim margin
victories. It took me awhile but eventually Kirk Cousins became my
quarterback. As of the conclusion of the 2022 season there would be one
undeniable fact. Kirk Cousins was as tough as nails. He's just a man
like everyone else but ... for the season anyway ... he was willing to listen to
Kevin O'Connell. Maybe ... what it is to be a champion ... had something
to do with Mr. O'Connell presents with Tom Brady. Kevin might not have had
the overall set of skills but he may have learned a special mind set that's now
blowing in Kirk Cousins ear.
So ... you still want
answers. You want the truth! Well maybe you can't handle the
truth!
Again ... it's
November 13th, 2022 ... and we are forced to look back upon the Epic.
People forget that Buffalo went 13-3 in 2022 in the HELLatious AFC conference
& one of those losses came at the hands of my beloved Minnesota Viking upon
the Mafia's hallowed ground. It's 4th down on the 1" line of the
Buffalo Bills. A quarterback sneak is called. If Kirk Cousins takes
the snap & his number is called, this Vikings team would have lost for the
3rd time on this day. Kirk Cousins is clearly stuffed where that ball may
or may not have touched the goal line. To be direct, from what I saw of a
clearly obstructed view I believe that Kirk Cousins was in the end zone however
this is the Minnesota Vikings & unless there is clear & concise evidence
a team that lacks respect will never get that call. As it turned out, Kirk
Cousins did not get that call & the game was essentially over ... that is
until Eric Kendrix skies the line of scrimmage ... falling to the ground where a
Josh Allen fumble skirts into his arm for an unbelievable go ahead
touchdown. Regardless of what actually happened, after losing that game on
a Kirk Cousins failed quarterback sneak he would have earned the respect of
everyone where getting beat by being bested will always be a win-win situation
... even if the call doesn't go your way.
So, why didn't Kirk Cousins, with all his prolific & impressive statistics
... not secure a contract extension. The answer my friends would to just
take a peek at his final play of that 2022 season. On Kirk Cousins left
was a wall of massive bodies. Behind that wall was Dalvin Cook which Kirk
Cousins could not see. Maybe that's why running backs are not valued in
this league anymore. Down the field on the left side of the field was Adam
Thielen covered one on one where he may have made the catch if Kirk Cousins
believed in him or wanted him further success but would making that decision
align with his future. No, it was time to move on. Which was
followed by Kirk Cousins decision to dump off the ball to a well covered T. J.
Hockenson ... well short of the sticks ... to end the season & the
game.
Of course, on that play, there was one other option. What would be a
triple covered Justin Jefferson.

There was no doubt, if Kirk Cousins threw the ball down that field it would be
"The Chocolate War" ... he would have been annihilated ... and there
was no way Adam Thielen's worn out welcome with Kirk would hold up water but Mr.
Cousins just didn't understand ... or he just didn't care. You see ... it
didn't matter how many defenders they had on Justin Jefferson ... he was
open. As decisions go, if the ball intended for #18 was intercepted, Kirk
Cousins would win as he did his best to make the play. If the ball found
itself on the ground incomplete Kirk Cousins still would win as he did his best
getting annihilated to give #18 the chance & if the ball were to be
completed these Vikings would have its shot at getting to the worlds biggest
game. It didn't happen.
Tom Brady would have made that throw. An incapable O'Connell would have
made that throw. Kirk Cousins is without an extension because he didn't
make that throw & to be direct ... I don't commit millions & millions of
dollars ... this teams primary resource ... to someone that I cannot
trust. You see ... the command from O'Connell to do this very thing came
well before that throw was ever envisioned. You need to look no further than
that epic contest in Buffalo.
He makes that throw to Jefferson ... regardless of the outcome ... Kirk Cousins
has my respect. He makes the throw he gets his extension & maybe even
a long term deal. He didn't & now he's without that
contract.
Here's the funny thing. All that respect that Kirk Cousins wife demands
with fervor comes with that one simple decision. Fulfilling his destiny
comes from understanding that he can no longer make that type of
decision.
