Pieces November 2, 2023
Jaren Hall is being looked at as an afterthought. For sure he's a rookie
quarterback where absolutely no one knows exactly his capability. For all
purposes due to Kirk Cousins being placed on injured reserve most likely for the
remainder of this 2023 season, the hope for the uninitiated is gone. Metaphorically
you could say, "Stick a fork in it ... they are done". To which
I say ... not so fast.
Jaren, it is time to look around you. Several years ago Kirk Cousins
signed a three (3) year fully guaranteed contract for 84 million dollars.
He's signed several shorter term deals since & he's no longer under contract
as of 2024. So what was it that this franchise purchased having made that
investment in Kirk Cousins. Well, the answer might surprise you if you
were to consider one fact. Kirk Cousins could win any game that he wanted
to win ... he has the talent to do that very thing. Could he have won that
playoff game versus the Giants ending our 2022 season ... well think about that
knowing that Justin Jefferson, even with three defenders assigned to him was
open. He's always open. In other words, it was a choice ... the
wrong choice.
Again, look around, & you won't see many of the people that once filled that
Vikings complex. Super star Stephon Diggs ... gone. Dalvin Cook ...
gone. Barr & his friend .. Gone. The list goes on &
on. What you see now standing in front of Jaren Hall are the pieces that
Kirk Cousins helped to build. Kirk, "Would you have a problem facing
Daniel Hunter, not having that red shirt on?" "Why yes I would
have a problem with that". Guess who got paid? Why did Kirk
Cousins wear the jersey with the number 66 on it during training camp & who
is his left guard today? Kirk Cousins may have loved his brother but Adam
Thielen deserved to get paid & that was exactly what happened ... even
though he now finds himself in a strange land ... with a way back thanks to the
blue print established by Bill Belichick. Kirk Cousins replaced his
presence with another Super Star. "PIECES!" These are Kirk
Cousins pieces where this organization has learned to listen to the master for
the time that he would be able to achieve that pinnacle status. In other
words, after starting this 2023 season 0-3, what team today is wearing that
rubber Philadelphia Eagles dog mask? Allow me to be direct, there is no
one on the planet that would have wanted to lead this 2023 squad other than Kirk
Cousins but those Viking Gods lost out once again to old #1. What occurs
can be vengeful ... but he sometimes can change his heart for even old #1 loves
his team. We talk brass ... we get this. It's time to humble
ourselves once again.
Did we forgo talent for a certain mind set? In time, you'll be the
judge. Early on in 2023 it was brutal but not so much today. We had
no choice but to the trust the process. God ... this franchise is one
thing for sure ... it's entertaining. My hope is that others don't miss
out on it. It is a breath taking change from the NFL norms where all we
can ask is ... GIVE US A BREAK! Everyone ... and I mean everyone is sick
of this leagues FRANKENSTEIN ... AKA Kansas City Chiefs.
Not to worry though, as Kirk Cousins status is now through the roof & there
is no place on the planet that covets him more than San Francisco. Sure he
wants to stay in Minnesota however that will be his choice alone but at his age,
he'll have no choice but to chase compensation. Who could blame him.
We love you Kirk Cousins & the nation has begun the process of giving your
true due respect. They were all wrong about you & they'll all
have to come to grips with it.
What is without question is that there are literally close to a hundred ...
possibly even more ... that are now envious of Jaren Hall. If you beat the
Falcons on Sunday in Atlanta (where Brett Favre was drafted), you may never come
off that field again. Even if you don't get that victory, your heart may
indicate the status to "THE SEARCH!
Draft order doesn't matter. Size doesn't matter. The only thing that
matters is opportunity ... and what that lies within your heart. It
doesn't hurt that you're hungry too!
There was once a 3rd round draft pick at 6' 0". The Hall of Fame is littered
with guys of this stature. One of his rookie cards became part of a Post
Grape Nuts cereal box where back in the day kids only wanted cereals packed with
sugar. You really wanted to have this card as your parents would never buy
what you wouldn't eat. He came in on opening day ... for the franchise ...
for some guy named George ... and defeated a mighty George Halas squad ... the
oldest & most established in the league. The rest is apart of history
& lore.
We watched you during the pre-season, standing behind a patchwork offensive line
that couldn't protect you. Sure there was #5 out there ... a very talented
WR but none of it compares with the set of ... "PIECES" ... skill
players & offensive talent that you now have at your finger tips. You
should be kissing the ground of which Kirk Cousins walks. Let me tell you
that today although the Atlanta Falcons maybe the only team interested in your
start versus the Cardinals in the pre-season, in time they will all study that
tape. "Shit ... We have a problem here ... this bastard can
play". What do you think about Quesi now? Did Quesi miss
something or did he allow his people ... his group ... his staff ... the degrees
of freedom to explode upon the NFL? Is there a reason why Quesi always
carries himself with a smile? What's that dudes
formula?
You'll never be the next Brock Purdy. Suffice it to say that you'll be
Jaren Hall, which is all we can ask. Will they ever say, "He's the
next Jaren Hall ...". Well, were about to find out.
After all the disasters that this franchise & its supporters have faced...
year after year ... wouldn't it be great for this nation to actually witness
something truly special. We'll be watching. Remember your growth
happens with each additional step. Instill one undeniable thought ....
remember to protect that ball. Luck is both bad & good therefore you
must rely upon both knowledge & wisdom. Rely upon others & success
will come.
After the game, Kirk Cousins was told. You just set a record: For the
greatest comeback in NFL history. Let's not forget what happened in
Buffalo. Recently he was told that he wasn't sacked in the game. He
won eleven (11) one score games. Kirk won 13 games for the first
time. Each time that breaking news was followed by shock upon Kirk Cousins
face. He had no idea as he never chased records. These are all
indicators of what he built. We love you Kirk Cousins. The words
Thank You will never be enough.
