BELICHICK's Tell
The expectations at this point are pretty apparent. Even a brief perusal
of the power rankings indicates a certain outcome in that they expect Tom Brady
to lead the Patriots of Boston to another Super Bowl Victory. Of course there
is only one problem with that thought. Tom Brady, & his gang of
whiners, will always stand between a certain piece of hardware ... and
that of the opening
day goal of the other 31 franchises. With that thought, we are given the a
blue prints. They were provided by the New York Giants, on two occassions.
They were also given by the voice & actions of
one man ... "willing to betray himself every time in his own words &
his own actions (biblical)". Of
course that voice of voices .... belonging to Head Coach Bill Belichick.
So what was the New York Giant blue print? It was to savagely rattle Tom Brady's cage
often which was both clear & evident in both of his Super Bowl
loses. Does that mean that this will once again happen in this years Super
Bowl? Well, maybe not. Maybe there is some other franchise, born in
the midst of chaos, that will press this issue well before this years marquee game.
Now, we collectively need to look deeply within Belichick's message that betrayed
his team. Then we need to ask ourselves why did he unleash that blue print
at that moment in time & why did he do so without Bill Belichick knowing of
his tell?
The answer comes in the statement, "Sometimes we cannot help ourselves".
There remains are argument within his soul. Even though this franchise is
now actually in Baltimore, MD, it was the
Cleveland Browns that spurned his genious, ability & staff. Belichick immersed
all of his resources within this community, not within that of Baltimore,
and it is hear that an old taley needed to be settled. The so called
new-curse in Cleveland has Belichick's fingerprints all over it. Put another way,
since Belichick's departure, has Baltimore suffered? No, the wrath of that
"Belichick's Curse" was it set upon Cleveland ... the town that
ultimately spurned him. So Belichick's tell would evolve from Cleveland.
From
Cleveland's perspective,
allowing Belichick & his group of masterminds to hit the bricks was clearly the greatest blunder in NFL history.
It within this blunder that Belichick
stirred his cauldron. Yes, the Cleveland's blunder was much greater than even the
Hershel Walker trade ... ouch! It is within this context that
Belichick unleashed his tell versus the Browns. The message so powerful
& so obvious that the NFL TV analyst just blurted it out ... "Belichick is so confident in his
defense that he'll call a zero blitz on every play". In that
statement, which was both clear & concise, lies an immense deafening message ... A
crescendo, if you will! That message was the tell of his own demise.
Now that the trade deadline has passed we can observe the moves made throughout
the league. In the case of the Patriots, they traded & added Sanu, a wide receiver
... which was actually quite arrogant of Belichick. In that move, what coach Belichick
was stating is that
to protect Tom Brady all we need to do is add weapons to his arsenal. In
other words, Tom Brady can protect himself by always having some sort of outlet
to avoid the rush. I say arrogant because it wasn't so long ago that the commentators were
concerned about Tom Brady's health as they couldn't protect him ... especially
on the edges. In other
words, something didn't add up here.
All this led me to a famous photo of Y. A. Tittle on a wall in Canton's Hall of
Fame. It caught the exact moment of the end of his career. In seeing
the film of that play, what I recall was five Pittsburgh Steelers defenders all converging
on one point, or better said, "Point Tittle". That photo is an image of
a bloodied & battered warrior at the very end of his career ... well past
his prime. Rest in
peace Y.A. Then I recall Kurt Warner's last moment on the field in the NFL
at the hands of the Saints. It was soon followed by what should
have been the end of Brett Favre's career in the battering he took in the Championship Game. Do you begin
to wonder why Coach Belichick's move might now be considered arrogant, as to be direct, your
franchise stands between me & what we are striving to achieve. After all,
Tom Brady is now well into his 42nd year, where he is now clearly approaching the very end of his
career. When presenting this point to the NFL Sat-Radio commentators, they of
course had an adverse reaction to that statement, however I didn't invent this
game. This is & will always be a young mans game & there is
nothing that I can do to prevent the earths never ending revolutions around the
sun. Also, each & every weekend, you'll hear the commentator state,
"Belchick is going to take away your best player". Isn't it odd that it's taboo
to take away his. How odd is that?-
